I watched this green heron, one of my favorite birds, as it waited patiently for signs of fish swimming beneath it. Darkness was closing in, but he still waited. And just at sunset, he was rewarded with his meal. Christians also are required to wait. We know what God has promised, but we don't see its fulfillment yet. We live by faith, not by sight. And we wait in growing darkness. The one in whom we have placed our trust will keep his promises. Faith will then become sight. - John
